What's New At Clark Testing
Clark Testing Prepared to Help Companies Meet New OSHA Requirement

As of June 2, 2011 OSHA issued a new directive in the Industrial Hygiene area, specifically regarding Worker Exposure. The National Emphasis Program for the Primary Metals Industry (NEP) has been established after an OSHA conducted study showed a lack of awareness on the dangers of exposure to chemical and physical hazards in this industry. Prolonged exposure to these harmful chemicals can result in rritation to the eyes, ears nose and throat, difficulty breathing, joint pain and possibility death. The NEP will be monitoring workers exposure to carbon monoxide, metal dust and fumes, noise and heat hazards. Their aim is to lower and eliminate the threat of exposure to employees working in the Primary Metals Industry.

Clark Testing Analytical Chemistry Lab now has increased XRF capabilities
In January 2011, Clark installed a new XRF instrument.
The Bruker Wavelength-dispersive XRF will increase our current capacity and capabilities! Not only can the instrument hold 60 samples but they can be of various matrices and they can be analyzed by various methods.

We perform XRF analysis on two sample types, raw materials and petrochemical, which cover a very wide range of products. Raw Materials include refractory bricks, slag, mold flux, etc. Petrochemicals include used/new oils, grease, gasoline, petroleum coke, etc. New to our capabilities is the “Petro-Quant” software which broadens our scope with petroleum products. This software package is compliant to ASTM, (EN) ISO, and DIN.
Why do we do this? Raw materials are generally tested for either verification or comparison purposes. Petroleum products are generally tested to determine wear metals, additives, and contaminants. Please
contact us for further details on how we may assist you.
