Clark Testing has a long history of proof load and structural fatigue testing of industrial equipment, including material handling and lifting equipment. Clark’s mechanical laboratory has provided testing, product validation and certification of components including cranes, hoists, cables, slings, forklifts, telehandlers, aerial lifts, scissor lifts and scaffolding.
Clark’s structures laboratory conducts proof load testing on industrial equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards. The functional nature of this equipment can sometimes overshadow the critical ANSI and OSHA standards that regulate the safety requirements of this equipment.
With one of the largest structures laboratories in the United States, Clark’s team can apply static or dynamic loads up to 1.5 million lbs. in the vertical or horizontal axis. Clark Testing is fully accredited to ISO 17025-2017 by the independent accreditation agency A2LA.
Forklift & Telehandler Equipment Testing
Clark Testing’s mechanical lab in Buchanan, Michigan was formerly known as Clark Engineering Services and has a long history of testing forktrucks and qualifying material handling equipment. Clark provides product validation & certification services for forktrucks and telehandler equipment with services such as: structural, load, fatigue, dynamometer, tilt/tip, ROPS/FOPS, torsional fatigue and functional or cyclical aging.
Clark Testing provides testing, validation and certification for manufacturers of Aerial Lifts and Scissor Lifts or, as they are now categorized by ANSI, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). Testing services include proof load, structural, vibration, tilt/tip, lubrication analysis and benchmark testing. All testing is conducted in accordance with ANSI and OSHA standards.
Component Testing for Lifting Equipment, Over-head & Mobile Cranes
Clark Testing provides proof load testing and certification on cranes, lifting equipment and hoists. Our testing services include structural load testing of overhead, mobile and locomotive crane components. These services includes testing of below-the-hook lifting devices such as hooks, cable, ropes and slings. Capabilities include up to 1.5 million lb. proof load of beam fatigue or dynamometer gearbox testing enabling manufacturers to qualify for the ASME B30 Standards.
Clark Testing provides load testing of scaffolding, shoring, and anchoring devices per customer specified standards or industry standards including: ANSI A10.8, CAN/CSA S269.2, ANSI/SSFI SC100-5, and OSHA 1926.451. Clark’s proof load testing capabilities allows our test engineering team to replicate load, motion, pitch, wind, torsional fatigue and any other variables introduced in the work area. Clark’s engineers and test technicians can develop a test program to simulate load profiles and field environments.
